IMPORTANT NEWSOctober 15, 2007 Thursday's Child is temporarily suspending the acceptance of applications from out of state clients until further notice, though may reconsider on a case by case basis if someone has a special circumstance with which we can be of service. Due to ongoing changes in the world of international adoptions, and significant further changes that are pending , our agency will be focusing for the time being on assisting only CT applicants. We are revising and restructuring our programs and information to reflect changes that are occurring, as are most agencies affected by these changes. Our long years of experience (our director has over 35 years of experience in the adoption field and Thursday's Child recently began our 27th year of operation) place us in a unique position to advise and counsel prospective parents on appropriate avenues for building a family. We offer that service, whether or not clients choose to work with us through an out of state agency's international or domestic programs, or whether they choose an option we offer at the time. We continue to offer comprehensive and thorough homestudy and preparation services in CT , as well as all necessary post placement and post adoption services and follow up. Most importantly, we will continue to serve our clients as their guides and advocates once we ethically determine they qualify for adoption, and we will do so in the caring, personalized manner for which we have been known since our establishment in 1981 as a licensed adoption agency. We maintain relationships with a number of out of state agencies with whom we can work to effect a placement for you, either domestically or internationally and we do periodically work with birth mothers interested in making an adoption plan for their infants.
Guatemela: We will continue to support all families now in process of adopting an identified child from Guatemala and are here for them to help them in any possible way that we can. We are not giving up on them or on the children of Guatemala.
China and Taiwan: We also seek applicants for older and special needs children from Taiwan-mostly boys. |
